Brief Explanation

On and On records and their artist The Geek x Vrv came to us with a question : How could we turn a song into a great experience ? We found that they had an incredible Soundcloud fanbase as well as very involved followers. So we thought : Why not use these people to create a music video ? The idea : the first music video made entirely with Soundcloud comments. We connected each comment of the new The Geek x vrv track on the soundcloud player to one second of the music video.

How the final design was conceived

We connected each comment of the new The Geek x vrv track on the soundcloud player to one second of the music video. On a dedicated website, users were allowed to comment each second of the song using the Soundcloud player. We reproduced every single comments in typography to create the real music video using paper, animation, clothes, toys, food… In total nearly 200 typography and shots were realized for a 3:37 mn song.

Indication of how successful the outcome was in the market

The Geek x vrv experience made the headlines of a lot of blogs and some of the most specialized and popular media around the world. Views of the track exploded, jumping from 200 before the experience to 55 000 just after. But most of all, by using one popular soundcloud's fonctionality, we allowed our fans to be at the center of the creative process.
