Brief Explanation

The goal was to convince students who already completed an intensive language course to sign up for another one.

The Brief

Inlingua, one of the world's largest language schools, was keen to attract more students to its one-month intensive courses. These courses make it easy to learn virtually every language in the world.

How the final design was conceived

Former intensive-course students were sent a calendar with a striking design: each of the 12 pages was a different national flag. Due to a clever printing technique known as bleed printing, turning each page effectively morphs one flag into the next. The effect vividly represents how students who have already mastered one foreign language can more easily learn another because so many of the world’s languages are related. Above all, however, the calendar illustrates the fun of inlingua’s one-month intensive courses. As soon as you can speak one foreign language, you’ll want to go straight on to the next.

Indication of how successful the outcome was in the market

The calendar was a huge success and generated very positive reviews. Best of all, Inlingua noticed a 17% increase in student enrollment in the first two months of 2014 compared to the same period the year before.
