Brief Explanation

The Cake project was created to support Bait al Karama – the first Palestinian cooking school to be created by Palestinian women. To help promote this non-profit project, our agency developed the book's graphics. The book has been sold (and is still on sale) on different channels to collect founds for the school.

The Brief

The project starting point was the recovery of an old recipes' notebook at a flea market in London. The recipes were written in Arabic and French by unknown Libyan ladies. The idea of the commissioner was to create a book of art and cooking - a "place" where recipes intermingle with artwork by nineteen international artists.

How the final design was conceived

The inspiration was the original notebook and also the 19 pieces of art made by the artists. Our goal was to create a unique editorial project, with a minimalist but distinctive personality, able to enhance the art works included in the book.

Indication of how successful the outcome was in the market

Important press review, radio interviews to the autor, presence at the art show "La Biennale" and good results in terms of sell.
