Although Agentur am Flughafen has been one of the most successful Swiss dialog marketing agencies over the past 20 years, it has rarely been able to count nonprofit organizations among its customers. A targeted acquisition mailing was created in an attempt to remedy this situation.

Describe the creative solution to the brief/objective.

Selected NGOs were mailed a donation box, similar to the ones often used by marginalized persons in pedestrian areas who are asking for spare change. The recipients were asked to “donate” their attention to Agentur am Flughafen.

Results

The attention-grabbing mailing caused a sensation and resulted in a 15% response rate. In addition to a few personal interview appointments, Agentur am Flughafen received an invitation to pitch a proposal to an NGO with one of the largest budgets in Switzerland, as well as its first direct commission.
