When we began working on the official Sochi Games website & mobile apps we understood that every valuable piece of content was owned by the world’s major media companies.
The only thing we had were digits - hundreds of statistical parameters about competitions that Olympic servers feed in real time. True big data – so huge & complicated that most of them never find their way to the sport fan.
We turned hundreds of statistical parameters about competitions into a way new experience for the sport fan.
For each Olympic sport we analyzed all available data. Then we designed unique dynamic infographics to reveal the hidden moments that were hardly possible to experience before.
By the end of the Games we’ve got 600 mln. website visits with more than 5 minutes spent on average - a best ever result for Winter Olympic Games.
Official Mobile apps were installed on 6,5 mln devices – significantly overcoming the results of Olympic related apps created by media companies & sponsors.
We turned hundreds of statistical parameters about competitions into a way new experience for the sport fan.
True big data – so huge & complicated that most of them never find their way to the sport fan – were transformed in the unique dynamic infographics that revealed the hidden moments for each Olympic discipline.
Infographics were available both on the official Sochi website and in mobile app.
