Brief Explanation
The council is a global forum of creative directors within the Grey network tasked with the responsibility of ensuring the standard of creative work across 153 agencies worldwide. Each member is elected based on their agencies creative performance, prior to every conference.
The Brief
The purpose of the Brand Identity developed for The Council was to distinguish it as a separate entity within the grey network. The council’s main task is to function as a mentor group guiding and fostering the creative standard across the network. The Unique constellation of constantly changing members, elected based on individual creative performance across the world had to be captured. We also had to reflect the constant relocation of the Council’s meetings, underlining the global nature of the group. The council had to be recognized as a philosophy, an event and as an extraordinary forum for international creativity.
How the final design was conceived
The councils identity was developed to reflect the collaboration of it’s members from across the world, as well as recognise the individuals that contribute and their origins. It was important to establish the council as a unique entity within the network and make a bold statement about cooperation across borders. Based on the individual members’ home’s geographical coordinates and the coordinates of the conferences held, a system was created to generate a unique logo for each attendee and every location where they meet.
Indication of how successful the outcome was in the market
The result was a constantly reforming, dynamic and adaptive logo form that could in it’s endless configurations, be implemented across every piece of communication from posters to business cards, websites, newsletters, agendas and scoresheets.
