The Campaign
Our film is a story about a smile. As it opens on a world-weary teddy bear named Miles, we hear William Shatner's dulcet tones ask us: 'is this the real life? Or is this just fantasy?'. As he does, we notice our bear only has one eye and no smile. It quickly becomes clear why: this is a well-loved bear that goes everywhere with his family, but that doesn't half take its toll. The words of Bohemian Rhapsody continue in the actor's inimitable style as we witness a few moments in an average day for Miles. Suddenly he is placed into a bag, and all goes dark. Seemingly moments later, he is taken out and is bathed in sunlight from the window of a Thomson Dreamliner. We notice his mouth has curled, just slightly, towards a smile. We see the arrival in a Thomson resort from his point of view and observe him as the rest of the holiday unfolds. Every joyous moment with his family adds to Miles' ever-growing smile. By the film's end, he's clearly been transformed and shows us a whopping great big smile, in exactly the same shape as the Thomson logo.
