The Campaign

McDonald’s is turning 60. And we’re celebrating with a very special commercial. The challenge: How do we rekindle in an entire nation that unique McDonald’s “forever young” feeling that once touched our lives so deeply? How do we bring people back to the point where they say “I’m lovin’ it”?" In the commercial, an unforgettable well-wisher does the honors. Oleg Popov, probably the world’s most famous clown, congratulates the world’s second most famous clown, Ronald McDonald. Popov joins McDonald’s in recalling an eventful life, a life tirelessly dedicated to achieving every clown’s mission: making other people happy. He does it with a hint of melancholy but also immense joy. The film captures the sentiment McDonald’s always has and always will be committed to—staying young at heart, whatever your age.
