The Campaign
We follow Ophelia as she tells us the story of how she left Zambia and came to Sweden. We see her going through her daily routines of making her bed, going to work, cooking and going for an evening walk. She tells us how she not long after she came to Sweden went for a pregnancy follow up and tested positive for HIV. She was certain she was going to die. She even went and bought the red shoes and handmade dress she was going to wear on the last day. Ophelia talks about her children and how she hopes she has influenced them. At the end of the film Ophelia sits on a bench and talks about the future. She can live another forty years and wonders what she is going to do. Maybe try stand up comedy? It might work, she says. The film ends with the text "I'm a survivor" followed by "Today, HIV doesn't have to stop you from living a normal life in Sweden", "Doctors in Sweden can go to prison if they talk about their patients", "In Sweden, no one is deported because of HIV or their sexual orientation" and finally, "We Are Survivors".
