The Campaign

Feel Every Smile is a film that explores what a smile means to blind people and how they currently experience them. Some of them talk about what they miss from the time when they could see and those who have never seen a smile describe how they imagine them to look. They are then introduced to an app we created that uses facial recognition to let them know when they are being smiled at. They hold the phone in front of them and react as the phone detects the smiles of those in the room. They then use the app while interacting with those closest to them such as one girl’s Grandad and another’s nephew. After, they give their emotional responses about what it’s like to feel smiles in an entirely new way and how they could see themselves using the technology in their day to day lives. The Grandad also gives his thoughts on the power of a smile and the feeling he gets from his Granddaughter being able to detect his smile in another way.
