Creative Execution
The virtual exhibition was supposed to be a virtual and real interactive experience. To connect virtual and real, we suggested a gesture-controlled version. We developed 3 different versions: one version running on desktop via browser, one for mobile devices and – if the user connects the LEAP Motion device to the computer – also gesture controlled version. The feature went live on the main page of Siemens in Karlsruhe and was supported by banners on several Siemens sites and in the local press.
As the main target of this project was here to show the people living in Karlsruhe and surrounded what Siemens does in this region, it is complicated to guarantee the results. What was done is a survey for visitors of the vernissage (opened by the mayor of Karlsruhe) and during the Effekte (a fair taking place in Karlsruhe). The feedback of the people was really great. The people answered that the exhibition is innovative and that most of the people know now more about Siemens in Karlsruhe.
The reason Siemens wanted to show the history of Siemens in Karlsruhe was the anniversary of the city Karlsruhe. (300 years Karlsruhe, 115 years Siemens in Karlsruhe) The main focus was here to show the people living in Karlsruhe and surrounded what Siemens does in this region. As Siemens is one of the biggest employers in this area, the goal was to show the citizens of Karlsruhe where there connect with products developed by Siemens like the public transport. Also as an international company, it takes international impact on the city.
