Creative Execution
For the O2 telephone greeting card, we developed special hardware and software. The inside of the card contains a GSM module, microphone and loudspeakers as well as an SD card for saving the sender’s number. As soon as the recipient opens the card, they’re connected to the sender. The O2 greeting card made its debut as part of a Christmas social media campaign.
Positive comments on Facebook, increased awareness among customers and non-customers alike and innovations that set the company apart from other telecommunications providers – the card is a roaring success and the objectives were achieved in full. At the same time, we used the launch to generate PR at an international level. Numerous technology blogs carried reports on our product innovation. This coverage also led to licence requests from USA, Australia, the Netherlands and India. In this way, one of the oldest means of communication was transformed into an internationally-coveted, patent-pending print innovation.xxx
As part of an innovations campaign, the objective was to intensify the relationship with existing customers and to conquer potential customers. To achieve this, we reinvented one of the oldest means of communication for one of the most innovative telecommunications providers: the telephone greeting card. Thanks to social media, sending greetings is easier than ever today ? but it’s also very impersonal. However, as soon as the recipient opens the O2 telephone greeting card, they’re directly connected to the sender – and the personal conversation can begin. The telephone greeting card not only raises awareness, it’s also a patent-pending innovation – and a new product and source of turnover, for O2.
