The film is based on a true story.
We open in a prison cell in which a prisoner appears to be thinking of a plan.
When a guard has passed, the prisoner unexpectedly swings open his cell door and starts walking freely through prison.
We follow the man as he’s wandering through the big prison building.
It feels like this might be his lucky day, until… a guard spots the man on security cam and starts chasing him!
When the guard catches the prisoner, the plot takes an unexpected twist:
The guard hands the man a hospital card with his name on it.
Titles on black reveal: this man is allowed to walk out of prison on a regular basis to go to the hospital for kidney dialysis.
He will never escape, because without dialysis he would die within days.
Nothing imprisons you more than a kidney disease.
