Brief Explanation

our new campaign for H&M's Modern Essentials reunites David Beckham and Kevin Hart. The film, directed by Fredrik Bond of MJZ, follows David and Kevin on the road from Los Angeles to Las Vegas to meet financiers for a new Vegas musical, “I, Beckham The Musical”.

Execution

It was important to capture the heroes of this film – David Beckham and Kevin Hart in a totally natural, authentic and believable way. Following on from ‘Becoming Beckham’, ‘Road Trip’ was shot with a high-end documentary feel. Handheld cameras gave the film a natural aesthetic and added to the idea that we are seeing true moments of authenticity from these two global stars. Rather than sticking to scripted dialogue the director set an intention for the scene and worked through different options and outcomes, to keep the dialogue natural and authentic to each of our heroes. All of this contributes to the idea that we are really on a Road Trip with Kevin and David, and places the clothing at the heart of their bizarre but believable Road Trip.
