The Campaign
The food delivery marketplace is worth $1 billion and growing, making it one of the most challenging sectors to compete in. In a business where on-time delivery is paramount, most drivers rely on their mobile for guidance.
Purpose
Handy is a wearable product for smarter food delivery. The delivery driver can follow the best route to take on screens integrated into each glove.
Handy eliminates the need to check your mobile mid ride and if the driver is going too fast, Handy will alert them to the correct speed.
Platform
The software we created is not intended to be a stand-alone app. It’s a white label solution that any business can integrate into their existing apps or platforms. The benefit for drivers and businesses is they can use this platform to track overall efficiency and customer satisfaction and use that data into something commercially meaningful and motivating for the riders
Creative Execution
How
The product uses hardwearing LED screens powered by a small rechargeable battery. A lightweight microcontroller with Bluetooth and USB battery charging makes the gloves sync directly the riders mobile.
Platform
The software platform combines geo location, traffic data and live mapping so it can calculate the quickest route to take and pass that information to the gloves. Real time route optimization means you never have to worry about road closures or heavy traffic because the platform will recalculate the route automatically.
Stage
The product is currently at Beta stage, we would be very happy to see a positive response at Cannes; this exposure will help us build a case to take it to the next level. It will also let us explore other use cases outside the delivery business.
1.Handy's long term goal is to evolve a wearable line for B2B industries. This includes delivery and logistics businesses (navigation and road safety, employee productivity ), Manufacturing floors and warehouses (weight, load measurement and indoor navigation, employee safety, performance).
2.Handy's business model is subscription based and completely scalable. Our plug and play software platform that pairs with the gloves can easily be integrated into enterprise systems. Businesses can subscribe to the Handy service at a basic flat fee and thereafter pay per delivery.
3.The delivery and on-demand marketplace is valued at 1 billion. Handy targets food delivery as well as courier and fleet companies that manage delivery logistics.
4.Handy has successfully launched a beta prototype and is in talks with a prospective first client - a Berlin based food delivery startup.
5. Handy has received a first round of funding - 100,000 euros
With Handy, we’ve created something that solves a real business problem around food delivery: getting the food to the customer as quickly and safely as possible.
We wanted to build a product that seamlessly integrates into an essential part of the delivery rider’s kit. Every rider should be wearing gloves for safety and insulation, so why not innovate here, rather than building extra stuff to bolt onto the bike.
Handy is not just about the gloves; Handy is also a white label platform where drivers and business’ can store and track overall efficiency and customer satisfaction.
