The Campaign

The Mission to the Moon stands to remind us that in order to create true innovation and technological progress, we must constantly look for new challenges and push boundaries. Sometimes even those of our earth. Because technology that resists the conditions of the moon will make our streets on earth safer. This project unites people from many different fields: technical engineers, designers, scientists – even a NASA veteran. The moon is the future of mankind. Audi is starting the journey already today.

Creative Execution

The Mission is extremely relevant for Audi as a car maker – and the whole car making industry. On a technological level, it sets a completely new standard of what is possible. This is the first time that a car maker is building a vehicle for the moon. And gaining insights and know-how for every technological field in the process. But also from a cultural and humanistic point of view, Audi is breaking new ground: they are encouraing the private business sector to engage in space travel – and pave the way towards our the future of mankind. In 10 years, we will all be able to get on a rocket and fly to the moon. Pioneers like Audi are paving the way already today. The Audi lunar quattro will conduct scientific experiments to generate further knowledge for technological, medical and biological research and the future of humanity.

While the launch of the mission lies in the future, it is already a source of inspiration all over the globe. Over 54 million media contacts generated, a PR value of 8.5 million and 39 Audi markets involved are figures that speak for themselves. Even at Super Bowl 50, the mission’s spirit found its echo in the commercial break. The countdown is on to the ultimate proof of Vorsprung durch Technik.

Audi has always pushed limits in order to create innovation and technological progress. Now it’s time to take it to the next level. With a test drive under the toughest condition known to mankind to test technology – and make our cars on earth safer. A test drive on the moon. Together with a private team of engineers, Audi is building the Audi lunar quattro. On a digital content hub, users can experience every step of the mission and the designing and testing process in updates, films, articles and interviews. Vorsprung durch Technik and pioneering spirit in a new dimension.

ogether with the Part-Time Scientists, Audi is developing the Audi lunar quattro and making it ready for the moon. A global campaign that converges in a digital content hub lets users experience and share in every step of the mission. Content pieces report on new developments and enhancements, also providing in-depth insights into the people, the technology and the mission itself. And bring pioneering spirit to life in a whole new dimension.
