The Campaign
Facebook’s “Facebook Memories” feature, which was launched on March 2013, reminds users of a certain moment in their life, on the exact day it happened years ago. So by imitating the design of Facebook Memories, we reminded Turkish people of the cases of human rights violation that resulted with torture or death yet remained unsentenced.
Creative Execution
We shared and sponsored the relevant posts on the relevant days via Amnesty Turkey’s Facebook page to remind these incidents on the exact days that they happened. We continued to share posts and give media support for these posts all year long, as anniversaries of other unsentenced human violation cases kept coming up.
• We reached more than 100.000 users via our social media campaign.
• More than 30.000 (based on number of likes and shares) people engaged with the campaign.
• Thanks to the social media campaign, people started talking about unsentenced human rights and support for Amnesty Turkey’s petition on change.org increased.
Amnesty Turkey Office, wanted to draw attention to this issue and wanted to remind people of these human rights violations. Our target audience was active social media users between the age of 20 and 35 who are sensible to public issues and who would want to spread the word.
