The Campaign

The idea was to enhance the pleasure of reading with the help of data. The Soundbook app creates an audio atmosphere surrounding the story you read out aloud to your children. Via voice recognition software, appropriate sounds from an audio databank are produced in real time, thus creating a new dimension of reading pleasure.

The new combination of children’s book plus Soundbook app paid off. Consumers brought the first edition of the book directly to number 1 on the market – just like the second edition. The app with its audio databank that enhances the stories in the books with appropriate sounds obviously helped boost sales figures. Soundbook will now be applied for a vast series of children’s books published by NordSüd Verlag.

The Soundbook app uses an Audio Data Bank to enhace the pleasure of reading. Voice recognition and the respective data output, the sounds, add a little magic to the old tradition of reading aloud to your children.

The strategy was to take reading to the next level – but without spoiling what is great about reading, which is the social aspect of sitting together and enjoying those precious family moments. Data, in this case taken from an audio databank, served to make reading an even greater pleasure.
