The Campaign

In a city struggling in economic crisis basketball seems to be a great way to escape. Giannis Antetokounmpo breaks down Basketball in the city of Athens telling his own take on the sport that took him from the dirty streets of Athens to the shiny courts of the NBA.

Creative Execution

Although the dream was big the Implementation was quite tough since the film was shot with a total budget of 40K requiring extra effort from the whole production crew, the shooting took place during May 2017 in Athens and the initial placement took place in the end of June. All of it with an online media spend of around 15K

The film went viral as the main basketball websites picked it up and it managed to get more than 500K organic views while the total views on Youtube, Vimeo & Facebook reached 1.5Million with more that 5.000 shares.

Milko in partnership with rising NBA All-Star Giannis antetokounmpo supports Basketball all over Greece. This piece is a film about Basketball and how people live it in Athens, rather than a branded film.

Our strategy was to connect milko with raw basketball through an emotional film that will inspire people and hopefully make kids watch it and get better. We believe that this connection would enhance the effort of milko working a sports drink rather thatn a more “snack” oriented drink.
