PABLO: Hello? LOCUTOR: Yes, good afternoon. Could I speak to Pablo, please? PABLO: Yes, that’s me. LOCUTOR: Hello, Pablo, how are you? I’m calling from Navidul. Your mother has just won a drawing for consuming our ham and I wanted to tell you about the prize. PABLO: OK… LOCUTOR: Well, actually, the prize is for our winners’ sons and daughters who live abroad, and it consists of flying your mother over to spend the day with you. PABLO: Wow! That sounds great! I’m happy to hear that! LOCUTOR: You haven’t seen her for a while, have you? PABLO: Not since Christmas. LOCUTOR: There’s just one more thing… Excuse me for not confirming this before, but you’re living in the Czech Republic, aren’t you? PABLO: That’s right. LOCUTOR: What’s the food like over there? Pretty good? PABLO: Well, it’s not bad, but there are some things from home that you just can’t get. LOCUTOR: ( (laughter) Right. Well, there’s one more thing I haven’t told you. This prize has a second option and it’s this: either your mother comes over and flies back the same day, or… we’ll send you a suitcase –your mother’s suitcase, to be precise– filled with ham. PABLO: What? What? What are you saying? LOCUTOR: But, you have to tell me right now which of these two options you choose. PABLO: Oh… And can’t it be that my mother comes over with the suitcase full of ham? LOCUTOR: No, that’s… That would be a bit complicated. I’m afraid you’ll have to choose one of the two options. PABLO: Hmm… What size suitcase are we talking about? LOCUTOR: Well, the most the airline will allow is 23 kilos… so that’s what it will have to be. PABLO: Holy sh…! OK, OK… LOCUTOR: It’s up to you, Pablo. One or the other. PABLO: You’re making this a bit difficult… I miss my mother a lot… but I’m going to have to say the ham… Hey, you won’t tell her about this, will you?
Closing title: Mother’s Day. Spend it with the one you love most. Navidul. The thing you can’t resist.
