Why is this work relevant for Direct?

It’s a special construction, innovative and immersive that allows to realize, by experiencing, that an energy company can adapt to every environment while preserving these environments.

Background

In one of the 3 most dangerous and polluted district in Mexico City, there are many assaults, especially at night. The residents won’t leave their homes anymore, graffiti invaded the walls and visitors flee the area. How can we recreate an harmony between the people and their neighborhood.

Describe the creative idea

ENGIE, a key player for solar energy production in the world and Heliatek, manufacturer of solar films, have integrated innovative organic solar films into the graffitis the local artist « N30» created. The result illuminates dark areas of the neighborhood with totally free and renewable energy.

Describe the strategy

This project, as all of the other « Harmony Projects », aims to demonstrate that ENGIE goes beyond energy and is committed to recreate more harmony between people and their environment. It is a corporate approach.

Describe the execution

In this neighborhood of Mexico, we chose a gathering place, unlighted and dangerous. We worked with a local graffiti artist from this neighborhood so that we could integrate ourselves as much as possible in this environment. We then worked on all the graffitis in which we incorporated new generation organic solar panels. From now on, every night, and even today, the neighborhood is lit up thanks to the energy of graffiti in solar panels.

List the results

4 months later, all eyes are now turned to this neighborhood, but the most important results since are: 0 felony and crime! Hope it will last…
