Write a short summary of what happens in the film

For 3 months, 11 fathers exercised to rise to a unique challenge: to last a 90-minute match against their sons. 11 French football hopefuls, in training at the Girondins de Bordeaux, a historic Premier League club… Coached by former professional players, the fathers’ preparation took place in secret, right up to the day of the match. A match with a special rule to motivate the fathers to last: when a father can’t go on, his son must also go off. At the end of the match, only 5 fathers managed to last. Proving that the more you take care of yourself, the more you can enjoy your loved ones.

Cultural/Context information for the jury

“The 90-minute challenge” is the first official match organized by a major football club and refereed by certified referees, where the goal wasn’t to win, but to last. This is why the special rule was applied to encourage the fathers to last. The match was commentated by the French football legend, Marius Trésor and filmed by the FC Girondins de Bordeaux’s own official TV channel, the Girondins TV. During their training, the fathers followed a protocol established by the club’s official doctor. The workouts took place at the club itself, but away from the sons. And to maintain the element of surprise, the club staff told the sons they were training for an exhibition match again a local team.
