Write a short summary of what happens in the film
The film tells a story of a seriously ill young girl and her journey to adulthood. Intertwined with her story are historic Finnish characters who were the drivers of progress in the last 150 years. Decisions made back then enable the quality of life we live today. The story is a reminder that the future is coming and we need new visionaries of today to set our course to the right direction.
Cultural/Context information for the jury
Digitalization, or the 4th industrial revolution, is upon us. Elisa, the leading Finnish telecoms company, wanted to remind business and IT decision makers that digitalization is not just a buzz word, but a call to action. Investments in digital infrastructure are similar in importance to 20th century’s building of the railway, investments in health care and women’s education. Those made Finland a pinnacle western society it is today, and now it’s time to look in to the future.
The white hat in the film is used at the Finnish high school graduation ceremony.
