Write a short summary of what happens in the film

In this film, Norway´s second biggest city Bergen, suddenly claims independence from Norway. With underlying references to both Brexit and the Catalan independence movement, we follow the people of Bergen´s wacky ride towards becoming a sovereign state. The whole story unveils through the lens of Norway´s biggest newspaper "VG", ending in the film's main message: "If it happens, we're first".

Cultural/Context information for the jury

Bergen is situated on the west coast, and well known for their patriotism. The idea of becoming a country of their own has forever been a humoristic way to establish a dichotomy, and it´s a running joke. The region has 250 days of rainfall per year (one of the wettest places on earth). They also have a very distinct dialect with a special way of pronouncing the letter "r", in this film used as a way to distinguish real "Bergeners" from the new foreigners, the norwegians. Bergens new fierce police force is played by a well known traditional archery marching band called «buekorps», dressed up in their original uniforms. The football team Brann (that usually ends up in second place)sets the whole movement in motion, as their loyal supporters are in frenzy after recent success. They're known for chanting «We are not from Norway, we`re from Bergen!».
