Cultural/Context information for the jury
According to a new report, by the year 2050 there will be more plastic in the sea than fish. To help stop the rising tide of plastic, we redesigned a classic Fish Chart where different types of fish were replaced with plastic items such as water bottles and food cartons. Billboards displaying the fish chart were strategically chosen du to their popular beachfront locations.
The original Fish Chart holds a very special place in every Swedes heart. We know it from school and we can still found ourselves trying to name the fishes. Today it's as much of a staple in Swedish schools as it is among design-conscious homeowners.
With the general election in 2018, and with the recent record-breaking heatwaves and unprecedented wild fires, we wanted to encourage the politicians and beach-goers to clean up their act.
