Write a short summary of what happens in the radio advert

In our spot „Mother Holle“ we tell the story of the (famous) fairy tale character „Mother Holle“ in the present time. Since no one cares about her these days, she’s gradually going bad. While she starts out selling drugs, she surrounds herself with increasingly shady people. Until her criminal career even ends with her own death. We end the spot with a call to fairy tale characters like Mother Holle not to be forgotten and refer to Heymanns Bookstore wide range of fairy tales.

Cultural/Context information for the jury

Rumpelstiltskin, Mother Holle and Snow White are well-known fairy tale characters of the Brothers Grimm. The most famous fairy tale authors and publishers in europe. Nevertheless, it is possible that the figures are not known in very few parts of the world.

The Spot “Mother Holle”. (SFX: Music the background.) (Man:)? Once upon a time there was Mother Holle. (Mother Holle: “Hello”) An elderly lady, who was famous for always letting it snow. But at some point nobody was interested in her anymore. Then the mood changed. (Mother Holle: “Hey, you! Do you need some?!?”) Back in those days, snow fell out of her pillows ... nowadays she has little packets with snow in her pockets. (Mother Holle: “This stuff will knock your socks off, bro!”) Once she got the help from two young girls ... today from old, shady thugs. (Sfx: street atmosphere, Thug: “Greetings from Mother Holle.” Sfx: Gunfire, Sfx: Man drops) And while Mother Holle used to punish unwelcome people with a shower of tar ... these days she is getting punished herself. With shoes of cement. (Thug: “You’ve disgraced our honor ...” Mother Holle: “Oh nooo!” Sfx: SPLASH!) And all this, just because nobody cared about her anymore. (Off:) Don’t let Mother Holle be forgotten. Discover exciting fairy tales together with your kids at Heymann-Bücher.de (Claim:) Heymann. Favourite bookstore since 1928.

Dreamy and slightly surreal, Ice Skaters for Ikea from CZAR Brussels

Ice Skaters shows the dreamy and slightly surreal spectacle of a middle aged couple spinning and gliding on the polished wood floors of an elegant, high-ceilinged apartment in their socks. With the tagline 'Bring life into your living room' it is a beautifully crafted advert creating a warm, nostalgic mood for the brand, Ikea. It won Bronze at Eurobest in 2018 for production company CZAR Brussels. Director, Joe Vanhoutteghem and producer, Lander Engels talk to Eurobest about the experience of creating the work.

How do you make an idea work when your entire media budget is pulled, a week before launch?

The team at Marvelous Moscow have the answer. CCO, Artem Sinyavskiy shares the story of how their work for Skylink, 'The 1 MB Campaign', went on to win Bronze at Eurobest in 2017, despite the media budget being pulled a week before the launch of the campaign.

The gin, the city, the song and the search for the special colour of Seville

PS21 Madrid, the creative transformation company set up by founder of creative agency dommo Agustín Vivancos, was in its first year when the team began work on Searching for the Special Colour of Seville. It was a piece of work that would not only go on to win the agency’s first major award, Bronze in Creative Data at Eurobest in 2018, but would also become part of Seville’s cultural heritage. We hear how the idea came to life from Strategy Director, Sergio Garcia and Executive Creative Director, Victor Blanco.
