Background
VOO Telecom is Belgiums biggest Telco challenger. Since the internet has become so much part of our daily life, one of the main battlefields and reasons to switch provider is the speed of the internet. VOO Telecom has invested in modern technology and because of that, they are now able to offer an internet speed that is up to 4 times faster than their biggest competitor, the market leader.
Brief: promote VOO’s fastest internet at Belgium’s biggest modern and digital art festival (KIKK Festival), because especially the visitors of this festival are mostly in need of fast internet (designers, artists, digital professionals, gamers, … )
Describe the creative idea (40% of vote)
To promote its fastest internet at Belgium’s biggest modern & digital art festival, VOO telecom launched large modern art posters that turned out to be real screenshots of crappy video calls. Modern art at first sight. Slow internet at second.
The posters were displayed as if it was modern art, with a little line of copy, which is also typically ‘Art exhibition’.
Describe the execution (40% of vote)
We made several video calls with crappy internet and took screenshots of those calls.
Those actual screenshots were ‘grained’ in photoshop to be able to blow them up to large poster format, and were then used as such to look as modern art.
The posters were then displayed at Belgium’s biggest modern & digital art festival (KIKK festival), as if it was modern art, with a little line of copy, which is also typically ‘Art exhibition’.
Headline:
Cool when it’s modern art.
Sucks when it’s a video call.
Switch to the fastest internet of VOO.
Posters were displayed during the whole duration of the festival, 1 week.

Lots of rumour and earned attention amongst a hugely important target audience for VOO.
