Write a short summary of what happens in the film
This epic movie is an allegory of the races and their main characters the horses. In this film the viewers first discover different historical scenes at different times when the heroes give up everything to get on a horse. We then find all these characters in an intense race. The VO lets us hear for the first time the name of the heroes true metaphor of the name of the horses: Lady Liberty, Trojan Horse, ... after the fall of thunder of Verdun we fall into reality and witness the Space Rebel victory facing competitors and the playful reactions of the public at racetracks and sales outlets.
Cultural / Context information for the jury
In France the PMU has the monopoly of organizing horse betting: gallop, trots and harnessed. Players can bet on horses whose names are as well known as the jockeys who ride them. During the races, the announcer who comments on the race calls the competitors by the name of their horse and their number.
