Why is this work relevant for Brand Experience & Activation?

The Spatial Installation provides answers for an utmost abstract question: what does creative working actually look and feel like? A design agency, packed and delivered to an exhibition ground – that’s DELIVERED. A spatial installation that depicts the working life cycles in the creative industry in an abstract form - from the idea to the implementation. Visitors interact and discover the peculiarities of Dart with both physical and digital tools. The aesthetics of the raw material and the seemingly random arrangement is a conscious commitment to non-conformism.

Background

Every three years, D'art Design Gruppe stages itself. The "EuroShop" Trade Show is the stage for customer care and acquisition. This is where entrepreneurs and suppliers from different industries meet and showcase innovations for retail and trade fair design. It is an important factor for the economic planning of the agency. The aim is to present D'art Design Gruppe as a creative and innovative agency. We want to convey to a broadly diversified audience quickly and in a surprising way who we are and what we do: Design for showrooms and retail, brand communication and customer experience.

Describe the creative idea (20% of vote)

Who are we? What are we doing? How do we explain this to the visitors of an international fair? The easiest way would be to simply pack ourselves completely into boxes. The entire agency. Then we would deliver everything to the exhibition grounds and the visitors could unpack and look at what interests them most. That's exactly what we did. The idea is to effectively pack everything that defines us as a company, drives us creatively and transport that to the fair; Ideas, special tools, secret ingredients, wit and a little magic. Everything that is Dart.

Describe the strategy (20% of vote)

Our target group are decision-makers and employees from the marketing departments of medium-sized companies and corporations that produce consumer goods. They have an affinity for design, digital media and communication. We approach them with an unusual trade fair appearance: The huge pile of crates attracts attention. We resolve this curiosity through the use of digital media and augmented reality. We answer all questions with state-of-the-art technology. We combine analog and digital design to create a coherent story - and thus prove our competence as a creative design agency.

Describe the execution (30% of vote)

Between the conventionally designed exhibition stands, a monumental castle of crates stands its ground. They are the common denominator in exhibition stand construction and the secret hero of every exhibition. Yet by the opening day, they have become invisible to the guests as they are invariably hidden from the scene. We bring them to the big stage. Boxes don’t come without content. Consequently, there is a lot to discover and experience. At first glance, a large, high-resolution LED, contributes an atmospheric appearance to the stand, similar to that of a digital mirror. Then the crates themselves, many accommodate hidden works by Dart, which materialize in a virtual reality. All motion designs were created exclusively for the event. Other crates contain lovingly arranged, analogue content that reveal short narratives about the life of the agency.

The installation fulfils different functions. And it has proven to be very successful on every level: Aesthetically, functionally, as a communication center, as a storyteller, and also economically. Economically, it presents the agency D'art Design Gruppe in an environment with many competitors and potential target customers. With its sophisticated and creative appearance, DELIVERED creates a positioning, generates new business and thus becomes an important building block for the future of the agency. Responsibility. All the material used originates from farms with sustainable management and almost 100% of it was fed into a second life cycle after the project was completed. And a virtual proof that good design lasts. A promise. With DELIVERED, we constructed a meaningful statement towards the industry we work in. ‘Less shell, more content’ sums it all up, and that is also what Dart as an agency is all about. Strong content that defines the design.
