This year, the Foundation and its agency decided to address a dramatic, little-known consequence of abandonment: EUTHANASIA. The movie allegorically depicts an abandoned dog, tried and condemned by a court for having been a faithful, loving pet.

Cultural / Context information for the jury

When pets are abandoned, they too often end up euthanised within 7 days due to lack of space in shelters and pounds. So there is an urgent need to make the public aware that one of the consequences of abandonment is, unfortunately, death. In France, Over the year, thousands of abandoned animals are euthanised.
