Oslo isn’t exactly an architectural masterpiece
We don’t have the biggest stars or the tallest skyscrapers.
And to be honest, our public art isn’t the greatest in the world either.
But we have something else: unique local stores, cafés, and bars that you can't find anywhere else in Europe. Thorvald Meyer Shopping Street houses houses some of the oldest and most loved local shops in Oslo - and the local people proudly identify themselves with these small coffee, food and clothing brands that makes Oslo look different from all other small capitals in the world.
But in November 2020, the local shops lost their oldest and most valuable ad spot: their storefront.
So we gathered all the local stores in Thorvald Meyer Shopping Street, and used their storefronts to visualize how the future may look like if we completely forget them during the pandemic. The talking locals did the rest.
