Cultural / Context information for the jury

The Walking Dead plays in a post-apocalyptic setting, for our activation ‘The Final Walk’ it was important to replicate that desolate feeling, that eeriness. Easier said than done in one of the most densely populated countries in the world (Belgium – even worse if you just look at Flanders). We did however manage to find a massive abandoned military complex in Vilvoorde.

Write a short summary of the ambient work.

To launch the final season of the Walking Dead Fox Belgium invited die-hard fans to a unique, one-off event: The Walking Premiere. They were invited to watch the new season’s first episode at a desolate venue (an abandoned military complex) in Vilvoorde. Dressed as Walkers, they experienced the Last Walk - quite literally – with larger-than-life intensity, as they walked behind a giant driving screen that was broadcasting the highly anticipated episode.
