Describe the creative idea
We used binaural beats, an auditory phenomenon, that is able to alter the brain's activity.
We cooperated with neuroscientists and contemporary music producers to create the correct audio parameters and produced an innovative music track that is able to improve attention. Thanks to the use of music, we were able to approach and introduce the topic of attention disorders to a much broader public. The 16Hz project not only rises the awareness and the money for people with attention disorders, but also improves the quality of life of the donors.
Describe the execution
We connected the top producers of electronic music on the Slovak scene with neuroscientists from the Slovak Academy of Sciences to create special music track composing of binaural beats improving attention. The effect of the track was verified in our own experiment.
The positive effect of binaural beats on different brain states (e.g. relaxation) have been scientifically proven before. For the first time, we were able to adjust the frequencies to find significantly positive effect on concentration.
The project was introduced at a special event where the track was played for the very first time. The musical composition was materialised into a 3D object by a laser-shaping technology and exhibited at the opening event. We brought the track to co-working centres and played it in a special concentration radio session. We created a concentration pack (music track with headphones) and offered it to companies for their employees dealing with the lack of concentration in home-offices during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since the project connects the world of art, science and mental health, we were able to capture the attention of a very wide range of media. The media promoted the project and lead the audience to our webpage, were the track is still available to download and the campaign is on-going.
