Write a short summary of what happens in the film
With this new campaign, the association France Alzheimer and related diseases wishes to highlight its core values: proximity, support and inclusiveness.
The movie the Sailors and its tagline "You'll never be lost again", was directed by the Mega Computer collective. The film shows a crew, a mother and her daughter on a small fishing boat being brutally shaken by a violent storm. Throughout the metaphor of the storm it tells of the upheavals that the diagnosis and the illness can cause in patients and their families: the loss of reference points, isolation, lack of understanding and fear...
The film brings out the values of France Alzheimer even more strongly through a highlighting of its values: the proximity and support of the association, metaphorically represented by the seagulls, and inclusiveness, symbolised by the compass that appears in the sky.
Cultural / Context information for the jury
The association France Alzheimer is the only French association dealing with the illness to be present all over the french territory with its 99 branches. The compass symbol was created by France Alzheimer as a mark of attention to be paid and shared, communicating to people with Alzheimer's and their families that: "Yes, I am sensitive and aware. Yes, I'm at your side."
The scenario of the film "The Sailors" conveys a strong message: you’ll never be alone, wherever you are, the association can help you and guide you. The scenario is based on many metaphors. This is the story a mother and her daughter, on a small fishing boat caught in the middle of a violent storm. Scared and alone, they lost their way. But as the storm stops, the sky is becoming clear and calm, it reveals the stars that point them towards the association.
