The “Back The Bars” film features sad and lonely bars from around the world waiting for their customers to return during the lockdown period. Every scene uses repurposed or edited stock footage to create typographic lyrics to Simple Minds – Don’t You Forget About Me.
Our slogan: “Bars need life, as much as life needs bars.”
At the end of the film, #BackTheBars invites viewers to support local bar owners through the lockdown by buying a beer and receiving it when their local bars reopen.
Being forced into lockdown is a scary and grim situation. To help our consumers get through the period, we wanted them to not only hold on to the positive memories of their favorite bars in the past, but also give them the opportunity to hold on to new experiences again at their favorite bars in the future. As such, we believed the lyrics of Simple Minds “Don’t You Forget About Me” spoke directly to our message.
