Brief Explanation

Today in France, 1 out of 10 women is a victim of domestic abuse, and 1 woman dies every 2 and a half days due to its consequences. In 2013, 174 persons died of domestic abuse, 28 more people than in 2012. Breaking this cycle of violence means fighting silence first, silence that keeps victims stuck in a feeling of guilt that they cannot get rid of. For 20 years the Women Solidarity National Federation (Fédération Nationale Solidarité Femmes, FNSF) has been in charge of the 3919 phone line, a number for women to reach "Domestic Abuse Info" (Violences Conjugales Info), a line to provide support and advice to victims of such situations. In 20 years, 350 000 persons have been able to break the cycle of violence thanks to the FNSF listeners. The film has been shot with an alexa camera, without special effects, but in a very intimate atmosphere, in private places. The lighting has been measured and chosen so as to enhance the cinematographic objective. The music is an original creation of "The" production company, and gives a special rhythm to the campaign through a bell-ringing emphasizing the message. The campaign was released both on online and national TV channels for free on the International Day for Fight Against Domestic Abuse (Nov. 25th 2013).
