Brief Explanation
People loved the original soundtrack of “José´s Wi-Fi Dogs”, a mockumentary about a man renting out Internet sniffing dogs to tourists. So we created a music video to go along with it. Just as endearing as the film, our music video is slightly absurd but completely authentic. Giving their best playback performance in white suits, the musicians lament the lack of Internet on holiday and remind us just how brilliant José’s Wi-Fi Dogs are.
Creative Execution
“La Balada de Wi-Fi Dogs” is a song created as soundtrack for “José´s Wi-Fi Dogs,” a mockumentary about a man that starts to rent Internet sniffing dogs to tourists searching for Wi-Fi.
Written in Spanish and inspired by the Mexican norteño-corrido genre, the ballad laments one of the most heartfelt problems of our society: the lack of Internet connection during holidays. The lyrics hit hard with the all-too-true opening lines:
“Ay, ay, ay./ Life is hard, when you´re on holiday with no Internet./ All that beautiful places you can´t share./ All that time spent in the hotel lobby looking for Wi-Fi instead of the beach.”
The main film was so successful that we got the chance to turn the original soundtrack into a proper music video.
“La Balada de Wi-Fi Dogs” was performed (obviously in playback) on a beach by a band all dressed in white, 70s fashion throwbacks. It is more than just a music video: it´s a love declaration to the Internet and an ironic hymn about the tics of our time.
