Brief Explanation

Our Campaign "Tyke 2014" for PETA Germany pleads for a thorough ban on wild animal use in circuses. Centrepiece of all communication is the 12 minute online documentary "Tyke. The final show". This documentary tells the true story of the escape and subsequent rampage of a circus elephant in 1994. One of the main challenges was not only designing the documentary, the trailers and all the visual content, but appealing to the senses by creating complex but subtle integrative sound design. „Feel with your ears.“ By incorporating a sound design adopted to every media type, as well as sophisticated and feature-rich composi-tion, not only do we emphasize the emotional depth of our pictures, but vastly multiply their emotional impact. We created a strong but delicate musical theme that reflects Tyke's situation. Throughout the whole scoring, which relies heavily on analog sound sources and effects, we were able to maintain the docu-mental character, although original recordings were scarce. To achieve this, every scene, every character, every perspective and every second of the footage was recaptured down to the very last detail in our delicate and subliminal sound design.
