Brief Explanation
DDB & Tribal strives to deliver game-changing ideas year after year.
But as in any creative process, a lot of ideas are needed to get that one great idea.
Instead of just putting our ‘unused’ ideas in the trash bin, we wanted to turn them into something that still benefits our clients for Christmas.
The Brief
The brief was to create a remarkable, creative and relevant Christmas mailing for advertising agency DDB & Tribal Amsterdam. The mailing had to convey that DDB & Tribal always strives for the best work.
Target audiences were all clients of the agency. Among others: Heineken, McDonald’s Netherlands, Volkswagen and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.
How the final design was conceived
We collected all the agency’s sketches and concepts lying around and separated them per
client.
We then turned them into paper fire logs and sent them to all clients as a Christmas mailing.
Each client received a tailor-made briquette: made from concepts conceived for their account.
A nice way to reflect on the year that’s been and to enjoy the warmth of a year’s hard work.
Indication of how successful the outcome was in the market
All clients received 3 Concept Briquettes each, addressed to their marketing and communication departments.
No specific measurement was used for this season's greetings mailing. However, DDB & Tribal
Amsterdam received a lot of positive reactions from their clients via email.
The briquette and making-of video were picked up by many blogs and news media; the video hit well over 20,000 views within days.
