Brief Explanation
The problem addressed was following: there are pill organizers, which are designed to help patients with their pills intake. However, people are just that - people, and they tend to forget things more often than not. But in today’s world there’s one thing people dread forgetting - their phones. Also, it seems like there’s an app for everything. So the agency decided to combine these two - the fear of forgetting the phone and the mobile programming possibilities - and created a pill organizer that is always with the patient (because it’s worn on their iPhone), and an app, which will help them organize their pills intake.
The Brief
Sanofi, as one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies, is highly concerned about the patients’ well-being and responsible medications intake. They have come to realize that in today’s world, it is becoming increasingly difficult to just keep important things in mind, and when it comes to sparing their attention, many patients tend sacrifice their health for the sake of work issues, study, family etc. Therefore, Sanofi briefed the agency with a task of creating a tool that would help minimize errors on the part of the patient, caused mainly by erratic and irresponsible pills intake.
How the final design was conceived
The solution is based on the fact that in today’s world there’s one thing people dread forgetting - their phones. Also, it seems like there’s an app for everything. So the agency decided to combine these two - the fear of forgetting the phone and the mobile programming possibilities - and created a pill organizer that is always with the patient (because it’s worn on their phone), and an app, which helps them organize their pills intake. This is aimed to help people be more responsible towards their medication process, and not miss a single pill – thus making them healthier.
Indication of how successful the outcome was in the market
Because the Get Well Kit is based on a worldwide spread insight – lack of time to remember all required pills – it has already gained worldwide recognition, with over 15,000 visits to the website, more than 75,000 views of product introduction, 1,800 app downloads and over 1,000 product pre-orders. There are large-scale orders from Thailand, Japan, Israel, France etc., which will result in the roll-out the culture of responsible pills intake to the entire world. Sanofi expects it to help in making the shift in patients’ minds towards their medications and always finish a prescribed course of treatment.
