Creative Execution

We created a visual and contextual tone-of-voice for the band to be used in social media. At the same time we seeded the videos to various hard rock music industry, media house, original bands (Iron Maiden, AC/DC, DIO); websites, Facebook pages, Twitter channels, discussion forums, etc. sharing the music videos and story about the band. The discussion was monitored and attended during whole campaign time using Meltwater and Brand24 online media monitoring tools. In addition we participated the bands Facebook fans in deciding the second music video to be produced, Holy Diver by DIO was the fans favorite.

With mere 25 euros spend in media (one Facebook post ) we achieved total of nearly 9 000 000 Youtube views for the music videos. The amount of YouTube subscribers reached over 50 000 users. This TOP 10 of all Youtube channels in Finland. We achieved over 3000% growth in Facebook fans reaching over 100 000 fans. The media coverage was globally huge and the band was recognised in TV shows and online publications globally. Best of all Steve'n'Seagulls became a new star in European music and is currently making their first album with a big record label.

An unknown Finnish cover band, Steve’n’Seagulls, had received some recognition in YouTube after uploading a cover version of The Trooper by Iron Maiden. As the unique idea of covering classic hard rock songs in Hillbilly style seemed to interest YouTube viewers we wanted to feed the budding success and see how big of a phenomenon can quality content become whilst properly boosted in the right channels with a well thought strategy.
