Creative Execution

An intriguing invitation, balancing on the edge of political rebellion, encourages users to interact. After moving the cursor over the banner, the cursor itself becomes imprisoned. When the user is momentarily in this trapped state, he is fed information about political prisoners in Belarus, and can click to http://amnesty.org.pl/no_cache/aktualnosci/strona/article/7960.html for further information and to sign the petition. For this purpose we used two formats: DoubleBillboard and a transparent top layer, which runs it when you hover over the banner, hiding the cursor when outside. Link to the active…

It was an experiment. And it worked. In only 450 impressions we garneder a petition signed by 50 people. That's a conversion rate of more than 11%. Among of all, we are happy, that on 21.06.2014 Aleś Bialacki regain freedom after 3 years in jail.

Internet users live every day with a sense of freedom to make choices (they decide where to click). So how can we get these people to reflect on those imprisoned, and to sign a petition to Amnesty International? We decided to take freedom of Internet users to make them feel powerless as prisoners of conscience feel like. For that purpose we imprisoned user cursor in a banner ad.
