Brief Explanation
On the 22nd of April 2016, the 106th Northern Derby between Hamburger SV and SV Werder Bremen took place in Volkspark-Stadium. For this special occasion, the most emotional game of the season, we turned the tedious forest track from the subway station to the Volkspark-Stadium into a unique journey through the most emotional HSV derby victories against Werder Bremen of the last five decades. The fans were able to admire eleven huge illustrations of HSV legends such as Uwe Seeler, Horst Hrubesch, and Kevin Keegan, covering over 500 square meters asphalt. Over 20,000 fans followed our Derby Walk on their way to the stadium, getting in the right mood for the upcoming Derby. Some fan clubs arranged their own special walks, proving that even hardcore fans supported our Derby Walk idea.
