Brief Explanation

The film tells the story of a half blind editor who's having a go at making his first film. Cinematic perfection, masterful editing skills that tell a clear story - he'll have none of that. And he will regrette rien, proving that there are beauty and success off the beaten path that everyone’s taking, expecting to do things “right”.

Execution

In order to fit the idea of film within a film, 90% of the material we shot digitally was printed on film, then it was toyed with carefully, then it was re-transferred into digital and finally treated in post-production to resemble film. At the end of the film, when our character starts the projector – that’s real film being played, as the logo and the line went through the same treatment. Although shot in Kiev, in post-production we built up a city-cocktail, meant to resemble a metropolis, but without being able to tell for sure which one it is.
