Brief Explanation
This film deals with a family conflict in an unpolished and genuine portrait of a father and a son, who go on a trip together in an attempt to reconnect after a lifetime of misunderstanding.
It's a human story about real people with real, unresolved issues, where the car - an old 1979 Volkswagen Beetle - acts as a third character and works as a symbol for the differences between the characters, but at the same time a motivated space for resolution.
Results
This was a low budget film with feature film ambitions. Making a full 11-minute and 6-minute short film with a cinematic approach on an intense shooting schedule with limited light and restricted time for every single shot. None-the-less the production managed not only to convince three A list actors, with extended feature film experience, to jump aboard a short film project with budgets for "model actors", but also to make the whole film look and feel like a feature film - despite having a budget for a standard 1-2 day shoot. The director took upon himself not only to develop the idea and write the script, but also to direct and even edit the film. The Creative Director dedicated himself in equal measure and even went so far as to shoot several of the drone shots himself. This was the extent of dedication we saw on all levels.
