Our goal was to respond to the myths about McDonald’s without getting preachy. That way, we piqued peoples’ interest in the message on quality and earned likability points with the youthful target group. To prove how absurd the rumors are, we produced a commercial that takes one of the most common myths about McDonald’s at face value to congenial and entertaining effect. We chose the well-known rumor that “McDonald’s fries are made of wood and sawdust.”
