Brief Explanation
BBC Four’s Friday night schedule is solely dedicated to offering music lovers an extensive mix of quality, in-depth music documentaries and legendary live performances. We wanted to offer our viewers something new and bespoke, which felt truly reflective of BBC FOURS mission to ‘go deeper’.
Recently the UK music industry has seen a surge in vinyl record sales, therefore we wanted to reflect this drastic revival with new channel idents.
With the use of macro lenses we were able to offer viewers a unique perspective and an unprecedented level of depth into the initial process of a vinyl being created.
This intense level of focus and detail allowed the sound design to flourish and turn something normally regarded as a simple mechanical process into a vibrant work of art – it’s a real love letter to the process and the passion behind creating music for mass consumption.
