Brief Explanation
'Brothers’ is a powerful film about a musician who uses HP technology to enable his deaf brother to experience music for the first time. The film actively showcases the power and capability of HP technology, whilst authentically demonstrating how it can be used to transform people’s lives for the better. The film ran during the holidays, at a time when most TV ads focus on schmaltzy festive moments. For this film, we decided to show the real power and importance of giving over receiving - and how HP technology can play a part in that story.
'Brothers’ is a powerful film about a musician who uses HP technology to enable his deaf brother to experience music for the first time. We had to find two main actors for this film. The first one had to be an authentic musician, who could play an instrument as well as act. For the second role, we had to find an actor who believably look like the younger brother of the musician, as well as having a genuine hearing disability. For the musician, we cast the lead singer from New York band rock band 'The White Arrows’. For the younger brother, we cast a deaf actor called Josh Castello based in LA. Though complete strangers, the pair produced a moving and completely authentic performance that emotionally connected with the audience
