In this film J.C. Jacobsen, the founder of Carlsberg who died 130 years ago, receives an invitation from the future. Although he lives in 1883, Jacobsen is invited by TEDx to do a TEDx Talk, in Copenhagen, in 2017. Apart from this surreal twist, the film is filled with correct historical facts dating from J.C. Jacobsen’s lifetime, giving depth to this intriguing story.
Within a very limited budget (€ 215 000,00), the ambition with the film was high.
The production should end up as a high end trailer similar to a HBO series.
Within 3 days of shoot time the film was planned and executed, even though
production design should look like the year of 1883, and included several difficult
sfx shots, complex plates for CGI, and make-up of the main actor 3 hrs in advance
of shooting. Postproduction was executed in 3 weeks including the original score.
All in all a very complex production to execute within a very limited budget.
