Brief Explanation

Our film is a full-throttle celebration of female empowerment. Using an original recording of civil rights activist, Dr Maya Angelou’s, ‘Phenomenal Woman’, we see a refreshingly diverse range of real, active women, each doing their own thing, feeling that they totally belong. From the very youngest, to the very oldest, every woman demonstrates This Girl Can’s infectious ‘don’t give a damn’ attitude, doing the activity they love, in their own way, with a sense of confidence that jumps from the screen. They are doing their thing phenomenally, and they don’t care what other people think. Demonstrating the power of the movement we have created, we bring all our women together in one final climactic scene – showing the community of likeminded women, ready to welcome and support other women in getting active.
